"Ken, for the past three years we have used A to Z Tree Service to do the pruning, shaping and removing of trees at Palmerton Arboretum. The reason that the Tree City Committee has chosen to use A to Z to do this work is that Bruce Ziegler, owner and operator of A to Z. is an extremely knowledgeable and highly skilled arborist who has the artist talent necessary to properly prune and shape many different variety of trees. In addition, Bruce's price to do this work is $15 to $200 per day lower than any other bids that we have received from other licensed arborist. The current daily rate for a two-man crew (arborist and one helper) is one thousand dollars per day. The reason that Bruce is willing to do the work in Palmerton for a reduced price is that he appreciates the dedication of volunteer tree city committee members, the effort of the small City of Rogue River to maintain the arboretum and the opportunity to practice his skills on many different varieties of trees."

"THANK YOU for your work as instructor for our 2006 Home Garden Seminar. You and your fellow instructors are the heart of this event, and without you all of the organization and effort would be for nothing.
We had a total enrollment of 171 at this year's seminar. We received completed "seminar opinion" forms from about 60% of those attending class. Ninety-eight percent of those completing the forms found the seminar useful and 99% would attend again. Those of us on the HGS committee were able to sit in on parts of many of the sessions, and we were very pleased with the quality of instruction.

We have included a summary of the evaluations of your own session. The individual session evaluation summary presents the rankings marked from 1 (poor0 to 5 (excellent) for the five areas listed across the top. Written comments follow the student's rankings. Hopefully these will be of benefit to you as you prepare for other presentations in the future. We think the overall averages might be the best indication of class reaction, as student remarks sometimes range from poor to excellent for the same instructor.

We also received some very useful instructor evaluations with suggestions for future classes. We do review these and attempt to improve from year to year.

Overall, we believe this year's Home Garden Seminar was well worth the investment of time and effort, and definitely a worthwhile public service. We are most grateful for your willingness to present your class!

"All the young men were great, but I must praise the young man who I believe was leading the team. I watched as he took time to ensure safety and on my property. When the sanitation department came he realized he was blocking them from picking up garbage cans so he stopped the crew and he and the others moved garbage cans in some cases near 50 feet so the sanitation department could do there job then put the cans back. Just fantastic. When the job was done he took the time to explain what they did and why. When they were done you couldn’t even tell they had been there. Wow! he and the crew were terrific.
